Additional to that, in our case the tasks and duties of a scrum master are as follows: Update burndown chart Schedule scrum process related meetings (review, retrospective, etc) Meet the other scrum masters of the other teams regularily for knowledge exchange We also clarified that the scrum master is not the team manager, or similar. Besides tasks and duties, we also listed some characteristics of a good scrum master: Listen to people Supportive Good communication skills Think for the team This is what we thought would fit a scrum master in our company.
